I can't join the automags.org forum for some reason, so I'm posting this here.
My first Automag so I'm at a loss of what tricks there are to getting and keeping them working best.
It's an R/T classic with the level 7 bolt.  Everything stock. It chops paint like crazy.  I get a few shots out that make wicked curves then it chops.  I've tried adjusting the velocity to no avail.  The loader is a Halo B with ripdrive so it should be keeping up ok.  It dry fires just fine, can't hear any leaks from the valve or bolt.  Any ideas?

Have you been able to identify where/how the balls are breaking? Is the bolt actually chopping mid-feed, are the balls breaking at the point of bolt-impact, or are they breaking in the barrel? Try swapping out barrels in case you are too far underbore. Check your ball detents, the Halo may be pushing too hard and double-feeding. Try a Revvy and slow yourself down a bit. Figuring out when the balls are breaking should get us the info to fix the problem!
Also, if your initial shots are curving significantly, your paint may be an issue. Try some fresh paint if you can get your hands on it. Old, misshapen, dimpled paint may be more prone to breaking on bolt impact or in the barrel, giving the illusion of a chop. In extreme cases, I've even seen paint so jacked up that it fed improperly.

I'm thinking that it is chopping mid-feed since big chunks of shell are getting pushed up into the powerfeed, and paint sprays out the powerfeed window. Definitely trying new paint is on my list.  Hmm ok I'll try my old revvy and see how that does with new paint.

Plastic or metal ball detents in your barrel?

Also does the bolt have a foamie at the end of it.
