So, I went and saw Battle: LA as soon as it came out and while watching I couldn't help think what an amazing paintball game it would make. I actually started writing up my own game design for it and everything and been thinking about it for the last month or so. I think it might end up being kinda like d-day, starting with a beach rush and going from there. Anyway, if you haven't seen it already I recommend seeing it when it comes out on DVD I liked it a lot and I think it would make a pretty kick-ass scenario.

I liked Skyline a lot, but i wouldn't call battle: la a ripoff of it at all, for one the aliens in skyline were giant unstoppable monsters, while the aliens in battle: la were not much stronger or bigger than humans, not really even that much more technologically advanced. Skyline is civilian perspective, battle: la is military perspective both with significantly different story lines (besides them both being located in LA). These reasons are why i think Battle: LA would make a better scenario. If anything anyway, Skyline is more of a ripoff of war of the worlds, and battle:la is more of a ripoff of independence day.

All good scenarios require a LOT of planning. With the possible exception of World at War which I think Chappy thinks up on the fly while the game is going! That adds to the chaos effect. I just saw the movie today. I think a good scenario could be made out of this one. War based, objectives that would be somewhat possible to simulate (not as cool looking though), and even though it was an epic proportioned movie, it was based on small parts of the epic event. |

Sounds like a fun idea. I enjoyed the movie too.
And personally, The Invisible Man was my favorite book by Wells. I found War of the Worlds too implausible. Too bad we can't do a scenario based around that... Edited by inglush_mayjur - Jul/14/2011 at 7:14pm |

I didn't care for the Invisible Man. My favorite HG Wells Book was the Island of Dr. Moreau. It took a while for me to get in to it, but once I did I thought it was great. |
