Battle For Bastogne.

Winter 1945, Home by Christmas was a common phrase on the lips of allied soldiers on the western front in France. However the German military command had one final nasty surprise in store for them. In December of 1944 German command launched a massive assault in the Ardennes forest with the aim of splitting the American lines and capturing the vital port of Antwerp. The Germans knew the war was lost but hoped they could negotiate a separate peace with the Allies and not Russia. The German 1st, 5th and 6th SS Panzer Armies rolled unchecked through the Ardennes forest, captured, wounding or killing more than 100,000 US troops.

The Germans appeared unstoppable, the only thing standing in their way was the vital crossroads city of Bastogne. The Germans surrounded Bastogne, which was occupied by elements of the 101st Airborne and 10th Armored. Outnumbered, under strength and lacking vital supplies the Americans declined a German offer of surrender and dug in to repel the German Onslaught until help could arrive…..

Join Battlefront Paintball and ARC troopers productions for a classic Battlefront winter battle. Can the surrounded Americans withstand the German Onslaught and drive the Germans back into Germany or will the SS Panzer divisions crush the beleaguered American Forces and alter history?

So, aside from US on defense and Germans on attack, what are some details for the game?

Actually, Chappy will correct me if I'm wrong, but defense and attack switches in the afternoon.

This game will utilize several layers of defense shrinking into nation center battle, after lunch providing the Americans held their defense will reverse direction and the Americans will attack outward through several layers to push back the germans.

Surprisingly, TR should have a good turnout for this one.  We will be playing the US side.

Pre reg is really starting to rock-n-roll for this game!
We may pound out 100+ players for this thing....which is great for mid winter. Long range weather is 40 and mostly sunny so SR won't need to build much of a fire.
Krauts need to recruit a few more to even the teams out.

We've managed to get our number to 4.
Looking forward to this game, although it'd be hard to beat the weather we had last year (6" of fresh snow and windless blue sky). Either way it's a good game and a great way to kick off the new year of play!
