Are the Generals already assigned? Or are you looking for a General for a side?

Generals have not been assigned and there will be some form of a command structure, probably similar to last year with a general and XO for each team.

The game will most likely follow a similar format where the generals will select the zones to be attacked, but there will be some definite changes.  One being the way the landing takes place.   We're going to change things up a little bit to guarantee that the landing lasts a good long while.  Unfortunately, the landing ended up being the Achilles heel for the Germans last year since we had planned on the Americans taking about an hour on the beach.  With the Airborne clearing out the beach defenses as quickly as they did, it was a major set back for the Germans going forward.  That's not likely to happen again this year.  The airborne operation will take place the night before, so there will be no troops behind the lines the day of the landing.  American respawing will also be more closely regulated during the landing so as to avoid a crush of people.

Initially.

Your Fear of the JOE Airborne is wise.

I pride myself in closing loopholes for our events, but the complete disregard for the airborne mission behind the lines in favor of slaughtering Germans at the beach was something I didn't anticipate.

I figured taking over an entire objective and scoring an early "special power" would be incentive enough.

True... however there were only supposed to be 5-10 airborne troops, which would have made the task considerably more difficult.  I think there was a miscommunication that morning on how many were supposed to go to the back of the field.

Either way... things shall be different this year.  :)

Your logic is flawed because those who were airborne like to shoot people.  And the large mass of enemy players at the wall was incentive enough to ignore the objective.

Also, if the pregame budget permits, we'll be planting live 5lbs. explosives in the ground all over the beach, randomly detonated of course, to give that nerve rattling sense of uneasiness as the troop storm the beaches from their landing craft. At least, we will if I get my way....

Hannibal with explosives I could potentially be walking on or near, maybe I'll sit the landing out this time...

If you remember right, I was General, and still leading the charge off the landing craft.  Leading until all the fast guys passed up the fat guy anyway.
