We are currently in the process of negotiating arrangements with Rap4 to co-sponsor a magazine-fed event at Battlefront. Details are still being worked out and once solidified, we will notify you here as well as on .68 Caliber Production's website, 68paint.com. During this event, only magazine-fed markers will be permitted. Qloaders, warp feeds, pump markers or similar devices do not count as a magazine. Pistols are fine to bring and can be used as either a sidearm or as a primary.
We are depending on Rap4 to supply us with rental equipment for this event in order to make it possible as designed. If for some reason we are unable to agree upon the details of the rental arrangement, there is a plan B to run this event as a limited paint game with regular markers and modified rules, so one way or the other, this event will be taking place. We should know more by early March and will keep you updated. ![]() |

I suppose I should mention that this event will take place on July 27th and 28th. The evening portion is not likely to have any bearing on the day portion and will most likely be used to familiarize players with their rental equipment by running some QCB drills and practicing squad tactics as the event will be heavily squad based. Additionally, the Saturday game will be a longer event than normal. 9 hours of paintball, starting at 10AM running until 9PM with an hour lunch break and an hour dinner break. Open play will be free the following day to any player who attended the Saturday game and any type of marker will be permitted for open play.

The rental package will most likely be 98C TACAMO kits, a 3000 psi tank, three mags and some sort of tac gear to carry the mags. Again, all this is still being worked out though, so don't hold me to any of this. There will be a limited number of rentals, probably around 100. So if you don't own a magazine-fed marker, it will be important to pre-reg early to guarantee a spot in the game. If you have your own mag-fed marker, then you're welcome to pre-reg whenever you like.
They're currently trying to figure out if they're going to have the D-mags available by the July event. Last I spoke with them, they were 95% certain that they would, which means all the rentals would be First Strike compatible. The plan for this event is to make it heavily squad based, since you can't very well Rambo it with 18-20 rounds in your magazine. You're going to have to rely on your buddies to help you take objectives. I'm trying to coax Rap4 into bringing 6 box mags as well. 3 for each team, 1 for each squad on the team. Somehow, I don't think that they're going to go for it though. I tossed that idea out to them back in November and still haven't heard back on it. **Again, all the Rap4 stuff is still pending until I've received some solid answers from them. They've been very interested in doing this game with us, but there are still some sticking points to iron out and any number of those could sink the possibility of Rap4 co-sponsoring the game. In which case, we'll go to plan B and do tac caps or something.

Equalizer, when you say pump markers, does that include stock class? I would assume it does but, never get any good stock class time in -.-

Yeah, it includes stock class as well. If we're able to pull off the mag event, then we're going to try to keep it as realistic as possible. If the talks with Rap4 don't pan out and we go regular paintball markers with limited paint, then pump markers would be fine, so long as they stayed within the paint limitations.
I'd really like to see the mag event take off though since there aren't very many scenarios like this in the country yet and I think it could be a big deal for Battlefront if the field was one of the only locations offering this type of game. To my knowledge, End War out in CA is the only other popular big event like this... and honestly, the field that it's run at doesn't really impress me like Battlefront does, so it could be a big deal.

Our team is looking to attend this field for the first time and this date worked out best for our schedule. Any info about the field, camping, prices, logistics, and so on would be greatly appreciated, as we are from PA/NY/NJ/VA areas. Much obliged.

Camping is free, first come first serve, basically just empty ground, we have indoor bathrooms but no rv hook UPS or anything like that. You are no more than 5 mins away from about every restaurant or style of food you could possibly imagine. As well as several hotels, everything from real nice to murder alley....I don't suggest that one. Prices are all listed on the main website although not sure if there will be some changes do to the interesting circumstances of this game. The field itself is almost indescribable, we have everything from buildings to woods to swamps to desolate wastelands and grassy fields, got a river to. Look forward to seeing you all here.

Hi Prof!
To expand a little on what Chappy stated, the field is a pretty good size. I want to say 40 acres, but somebody correct me if I'm wrong on that. It features hillsides, a stream, several bridges, woods, swamps, fields and several concrete "bombed out" looking buildings as well as various wooden towers and bunkers. There are plenty of pictures on Battlefront's main page from past games that should give you an idea of what to expect. Please be aware that the goal for this event is to have it a magazine fed only event. Hopper fed markers and similar will most likely not be allowed. We're still working out the details with Rap4 on this, but I wanted to make you aware that a mag-fed only situation is a definite possibility. I'm not sure if this will change your interest in this game or not. As for pricing, common prices can be found on Battlefront's main page. Due to this event running the entire day on Saturday (till 9pm as opposed to 5pm), as well as having some Friday evening activities, I would expect the prices to be a little higher than normal, but not unreasonably so. It will also depend on whether or not rental equipment will be needed from Rap4 who sets their own rental fees. |
