Since this is a really active topic, I'm just going to post a question here -

Are the paint prices on the main site still relevant? As in, is the cheapest case of paint available here still 50 dollars?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Paint sales and field fees are how fields make their money. The prices at BF are actually pretty inline with other places. They are actually a little cheaper than some.  Don't be a smuggler.

Hes right Morzan The place i started at pinnacle woods (which is kinda of falling apart now) Was alot more expensive then Battlefront Both the paintball field fee and air were more expensive Battlefront is very fairly priced and it comes with an awesome field and Scenarios (and a few awesome players).

Haha I feel like every topic has someone that says something about paint prices.  It is the same everywhere, it is marked up for the field owners to run their business and cover unforeseen costs that allow us to play there every weekend.  Just accept it!

Sorry Morzan13, this wasn't a direct attack at you at all, just there are a lot of people that don't understand what goes into making a field run etc, etc.  So I hope you don't take it that way at all!

.
The reality of paintball is that running a field and particularly producing large-scale events costs much more money than most players will ever understand. Since paintball fields are a business and not a charity venture, they've got to turn a profit somewhere. The only real options are on admission and on paint (concessions can help, and air prices usually barely cover equipment and maintenance). SO, for an event like this one, the shoice is between admission and paint (of course reality is a balance between the two). Battlefront could certainly offer paint closer to their cost, let's say at the running retail of $45. However, that would have to be balanced somehow, and the only real option is admission. So, let's say every player buys one case of paint. Lowering the price of paint by $20 would create a $20 deficit per player. Of course, that has to be made up somewhere, like by raising admission by $20.

In short, fields are a business and customers will pay to run that business one way or another.

Personally, I would rather increased paint prices handle more of the overhead. That way, more players can get in the door with the lower admission and they are in control of how much they spend on paint.

buy a case and deal with it..or you could sit at home and bitch about how much they are charging for paint...come out and play support the field and have a good time
Remember if it were you running the field you would be doing the same thing to make money!

You have to think of how much of that money goes back into the field they are always building new things and up grading.
And who are the young men we are asking to go into action against such solid odds? You've met them.they are the best we have.and they are at the end of the pipeline. That no one cares. They know.

Just to be clear, I didn't mean to complain about the prices, I fully understand the economics of the business :-P.

I came, I played, I had a great time on my scenario cherry-popper, and I'll certainly be back, paying whatever price for paint that I can afford!

Tyrant, glad you had a great time and enjoyed the field

I agree, today was a great game ... good running with everyone and the Marines put up a pretty good fight for most of the day.  Can't say anything bad about that Clap

Seconded. This was my first Battlefront game and I can't  say enough good things. The facility is great, the staff was great, the reffing was solid, and so on. Now that I know what a value BF events are and how great the field and the clientele are, I'm definitely making plans to come to another event soon. Hopefully at least one of my guns will be cooperative so I can start on time.

I'm not sure what happened at the end of the second half. It definitely seemed like the USMC evaporated. Maybe a disproportionate number of that team went home early, or perhaps they needed a disproportionately large force for the attack/defend situation they were faced with. I don't know the exact score, but I'm pretty confident that the NVA owned the second half.
