Thanks!  I have run a few google searches trying to figure out the correct name.  You get Vietnam hits for both "ia" and "la." 
I like the idea of the one-time-use armbands.  Do the tunnel rats have a choice as to whether they use them right away or save them until later in the game?  Will they be issued from the start or given to the general to hand out?

The Pronounciation is "YA"  NOT "LA"

With some fonts, A Capital I and lowercase l, can look identical and hence the confusion over the years.

Tunnel Rats will probably all be selected during the pre-reg process. Several have already signed up. When the Rats will be used will be up to their Kommandant....but I'm sure there will be a Rat or two that decides to go in on their own.

Im not entirely sure what this game is, or what to do. I missed it last year. So I just plan on running around with someone that knows what we're supposed to do...

Looks like we may actually have a few tunnels for the rats to pop out of for this game. Things are getting a bit thick back by the Marine HQ (the American LZ) and we're gonna look at some locations for some of the Omaha pipes. May or may not work out. We are for sure gonna use some of the pipes to create covered spider holes for the sappers to use....and also have some holes that won't have VC in them, but will be booby trapped to blow up when the Yanks open them up to clear them.

now that would suck if ur a rat and get bunkered in the tubes but still a great idea

According to the rules I read if you bunker someone your not supposed to shoot them unless they refuse your offer to surrender. So I guess it wouldn't really suck as much as you'd think. Oh I was wondering wile were on the topic of bunkering, do barrel taps count as getting tagged out or does only the yelling "Bunker" rule apply.

Bunker(rule does not apply to Kevin Miller because no one bunkers Kevin Miller)=Option  of being out or being shot.

REALLY PUMPED FOR THIS! this will be my first game at battlefront, and I am planning a nice 5 hour drive from Syracuse NY. So I was wondering is there any free camp grounds or a super cheap place for me to stay the day before? Also any recommendations for what I should sign up for? my scenario experience is limited, I have a good shot and a tourney grade marker.

Hey BTN,

Welcome to the forums & welcome to the field (a month early).  The field has free camping on site but you'll be "roughin it".  Before every big game there's players that pitch tents & hang out the night before.  There are a handful of hotels in the area as well, all pretty inexpensive... Tally-Hotel being the cheapest (for a reason).

As far as what role to pre-register as -- if you haven't played that many scenarios just register as regular army (whichever side) especially since this is your first time at Battlefront.  The different roles certainly add to the game but for a "new guy" it's probably better to sit back & observe how roles are used then give it a try after you've had atleast a game under your belt.  But on the otherhand if you're feeling adventurous then go ahead & be a VC tunnel rat!

I should be there camping out so make sure you say hi if you make the trip out.  I camped out before D-Day and was glad I did, since that was my first game at Battlefront.  It gave me a chance to walk the field a bit the night before and get a feel for the place.  As far as the game goes you'll have fun in any role, but I agree with ger, you won't feel left out at all just signing up as regular army, it would be a good position to start with.  That said, choose what you want!  You will have fun either way.
