I wish more people followed that rule. It's gets abused more than it should but I understand the temptation to rat out the guy that smoked ya. I wonder if most people just don't know that it's a rule. When asked about where the bad guys/good guys are at when I'm walking to the dead box I used to lecture about how it's against the rules but lately I've saved my breath and resorted to the reply of 'Everywhere'.
In antiquity those that excelled in warfare first made themselves unconquerable in order to await the moment when the enemy could be conquered.

This is one of the harder things to control while reffing, people think its acceptable.  I think it should be obvious, just like keeping your mask on in play...

Congratulation to Dan Issacson of the Lost Platoon on your "Iron Cross" award. Not being eliminated for 2-1/2 hrs within enemy lines is no small feat. Well played sir!

Dead men don't talk: I don't do it myself & I don't allow teammates to do it to me.  With the group of guys I play w/, we know to pay attention to what direction the eliminated person was facing & where on them they were hit - gives those left a good idea where the paint came from.  The funniest thing for me is when the other team gets mad, jumps up & yells at someone on my side for doing it... hence giving away their position:  "Clap Congratulation putz, raise your hand if you want painted!"

His mask was probably fogging so bad, he didn't realize he was hiding.

I was minutes away from reaching him.  Me and 2 green berets were crossing the river under Heartbreak Ridge when the final shots were fired.  We managed to kill 3-4 NVA but then I was killed in a blaze of glory(more like a hail of paint).
