Ive been using an Invert Mini for a bout a year now, so I thought Id share...
 
Ive owned everything from M98 to cocker to Shocker, and tested out an Angel and many others. 
But I would not trade my Mini for anything!
 
the Good:
Rate of Fire. Mine is set at 17bps, and have tried 20bps with no problems other than going through too much paint.
Range & Accuracy is better than anything else Ive used (this is with a Dye UL Barrel) stock barrel is ok.
Weighs almost nothing!
Anti-Chop is very reliable.
Cleaning it is very easy.
Air efficient. About 1200 shots from a 68/4500. Well, average I guess. I hear it gets better with an aftermarket bolt.
 
the Bad:
battery life sucks. One good 9volt gets about 2000 shots
Grips, front and rear. Kinda odd cause its so small. You get used to it.
 
For $300 you cant beat this deal. Im surprised I dont see many in use at BFP.

If you only get 2000 shots before you need to change your battery something is wrong with your Mini or the batteries that you use.

We, ROC and I, have three minis between us, two of them are three years old.. The batteries have lasted through many cases of paint. The only problems we have ever had was getting the marker drenched in the same game and burning out the boards. But the boards were replaced at no cost. We lost an o-ring in one last year. 
When we play a large scenario, we use about a case of paint a piece. I have played several games before changing  batteries. I would agree with Kevin.
We have owned 98 custom A-5, rails, and a Fusion(not a Ford). Non of them compare to the IM, as you stated in your post. We like ours for all the same reasons.

Ive been using energizer batteries. I just switched to Duracell though. Mabey they will perform better this weekend. Haven't had any o-ring problems with mine.
