So what you are saying is that when it comes to personal preference you do not like the Ion. Everything else you know about them is hear say.

As a entry level marker I think they are great. They are a fairly simple marker to maintain and they have a lot of upgrades available for them.

i wouldnt upgrade it at all. if you like the style of the marker and think you will be playing paintball for at least a few years, save the money and spend it on a decent marker. like cheap ego  or something

The whole upgrading comes down to personal preference. With the Ion you can change pretty much any aspect of the gun you want and it can be done pretty cheap too. If you feel the need to, the option is there.

You can also get an ion for next to nothing.  No new player is going to walk onto the field with an Sl94...

I started with an Ion and I beat the ever loving sh*t out of it and it still worked great. After a few years and half a trigger and some missing internals I bet it would still shoot better than a tippmann.

My 2 cents. I had never shot a speedball marker before T4T, when Kevin let me shoot his SmartParts marker (completely awesome by the way). I can't even remember the model of it right now, but that thing was tits!! I will probably never play speedball, but after using it for about 2 hours, I will never give anyone crap for using  one for milsim paintball game again. They definitely have there place out on the field. Never shot an ION, but I'd try one now at least.

Not a "shiny" marker convert, but open minded now....

Ions are a cheap and fun gun to shoot. Im not going to go out and buy a 1,000 dollar marker a 200$ marker can do.

Wouldnt go that far, large difference. Unless you mean they shoot, in which case a 60$ marker will do the same.
